This document has information on the release of NiwRAS
for Microsoft certification testing.

Changes since Ver 1.1:

	Floppy  0.1396 ver 1.2 for Microsoft testing:
	This is a subset of the full source floppy 0.1373
        Ver 1.2, until we get the Microsoft non-disclosure,
        It does have source for Help and for some modules.
	
	Addition of NIWHELP.HLP file.
    
	This floppy has NiwRAS.fre (free build) and
        NiwRAS.chk (checked build).

	NiwRAS Ver 1.2 changes:
		Send Packet queuing added.
		Unicode conversion, StrNICmp, and StrNCmp 
			added as internal routines for prtability.

Known issues:
	
	No luck in getting the help file to appear from the 
	help button during installation.

	Call back is not supported.

	More router interoperability testing is needed.

This document has information on the initial release of NiwRAS.

Introduction:

NiwRAS Provides T1, PRI, ISDN BRI, and SW56 Support for Windows NT(tm)

The NiwRAS Kit is a High Bandwidth Connectivity Kit for the Windows NT(tm) 
Network Operating System.  NiwRAS runs under Remote Access Services,  
providing IP(Internet),  NETBEUI (Microsoft Windows Network),  
and IPX protocol support.  
	
Supported dial-up devices include: 
	ADTRAN's DSU IIIAR,  ISU 128,  and  ISU 512;  
	INC's SW56 DSU;  
	ASCEND's VSX/BRI and  MultiBand Plus;  
	AT&T's  Acculink Bandwidth Controller
	
Supported dial-up telecommunication facilities include: 
	SW56 (2-wire and 4-wire),  
	ISDN BRI (1 to 4 BRI lines),  
	T1 (Nx56) (1 or 2 T1 lines),
	ISDN PRI  (1 or 2 PRI lines) (Nx56, Nx64, Nx384).

Supported dedicated(private or leased) facilities include:
	Dedicated 56, 
	FT1 (Nx56 or Nx64), 
	T1 (1.536 Megabits/sec),  
	E1 (1.920 Megabits/sec)
	Multi-T1 up to 4xT1 (6.144 Megabits/sec)
	Private synchronous facilities to 7 Megabits/sec.

Applications:
	Windows NT(tm) Workstation dial (or dedicated) to:
		Internet router, Corporate router, or

Interoperation:
	
	The Kit has been tested with 3COM NetBuilder routers (IP only) and 
	with IP, NETBEUI, and IPX in Windows NT(tm) to Windows NT(tm) 
	configurations.  We expect to interoperate with compliant Synchronous 
	PPP routers.
