~Tunnels and Trolls

A few tips, obtained from Judd Reiffin via request on the Internet.

I'll refrain from bashing the game itself (too much), but... tips:

Save a lot. Back up your save files. Restore a lot. Prepare to die
a lot by making a lot of informationless choices that instantly
kill you.

An amusing trick: Have all your characters start as a different class
than you want them to be. When you get to the second island and talk
to the fortune teller (save game) she will sometimes draw a card that
changes the character into a warrior and gives him a Hero's Sword
that does some truly munchinish amount of damage, like 100+1d20 or so.

This made most combats pretty one sided (my side, fortunately) but
didn't do anything about the pick-a-wrong-choice-and-you-all-die-
play-again-y/n? problem. The game itself lacked the Tunnels &
Trolls atmosphere that Buffalo Games had in the original role
playing game (a truly hilarious game made more so by a quick read
through any of the published modules). Overall a disappointment.
