INSTALL

To install Shareware Golf , run the setup program using 
file run in the program manager and follow the instructions 
on the screen.

MENU INSTRUCTIONS

Start New Game
Press F2 or select NEW from the GAME menu. You will be 
asked whether you wish to abandon the current one. Select 
YES or NO. 

Create, Edit and Delete Players
Select CREATE PLAYER from the GAME menu Click on the NEW 
button  Enter a name and a town if you wish. Choose a 
player icon. Select OK to confirm. Select EDIT to change 
the icon of your player. Select OK to confirm.Select 
DELETE to remove a player from the game. Select OK to 
confirm.

Setup Game
Select SETUP GAME from the GAME menu. Choose from one to 
four players. Select NONE for any unused names. Select the 
desired golf course from the drop down list. Select OK to 
confirm. To use the new settings, you must start a new 
game.
Note: the two courses Links and Gorse are complete but 
classic is blank and is entended as a starting point for 
your own course.

Options
Control the way your game is played by clicking on the 
various options available. Amongst these are varying wind 
speeds, and other display and game options.

Exit
Closes the golf game.

Select Next Player
Next person's shot. You can automate this using the 
OPTIONS menu.

Select Correct Club
This attempts to use the correct club for the shot. You 
can automate this using the OPTIONS menu.

View Ball
Draws a circle round the ball to prevent you losing it on 
the screen.

View Scores
Shows the status of the currently selected player.

View Map
Displays a map of the current golf course.

GAME INSTRUCTIONS

Player Select
Choose the player you want from the drop down list .  The 
player's icon will be displayed above the text. This 
process can be automated using the  AUTOMATIC PLAYER 
Selection setting  from the Options menu.

Clubs
Choose the club you want from the drop down menu. You can 
automate this option by  choosing the SELECTION OF  A 
CLUB   setting from the  Options menu.

Game  Status
Zoom view of ball - shows a close-up view of the ball and 
allows you to choose how to hit the ball.

Select Landing Position
Narrow down the area on the course you are aiming at. 

Hitting Power
Choose how hard to hit the ball. Click inside the black 
area or your shot will be unpredictable.

EDITING AND MAKING NEW GOLF COURSES

Note: the two courses Links and Gorse are complete but

If you design some good courses then email them to me by 
zipping them and UUENCODEing them addressd to tom@ort.org 
and I will put them in the nex release.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR EDITING
(1)The Landscape design program has boxes for loading and 
saving  .fwy and .hol files and selecting the course to 
edit. on the left of the screen.

(2)Select the area of the course you want to work on with 
the mouse, click and drag over the area.

(3) use + and - to make the area high or low ground for 
hills and bumps. Use draw to show the finished changes.

(4)Use Ave to flattern and area

(6) Use clear to unselect all the land that is selected

(7) Use Swap to select all land that is not selected.

(8) Use select to select all of one type of land. Click 
on clear first then click once where you want to select 
then click select.

(9) use the T F R S G W C H buttons to change the 
selected land...

	T=Tee, only six squares
	F=Fairway
	R=Ruff
	S=Sand
	G=Green
	W=Water
	C=Rock or Road
	H=Hole, only one square


(x)Use Zoom when you have finished to design the hole 
file from the fwy file. Remember to save it befor you 
press Zoom and then save again as .hol


If you want to make a new course then copy a blank 
clasic.hol and clasic.fwy file to 18 files with the 
corrext name and then make a .clb file with the same 
name and rename one of the wmf files to also have the 
same name then test it if it works then go ahead and 
edit it....Good Luck.

at the moment using WING and WINSOCK.DLL
